The 21-year-old has been out of action since starting against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on 22nd September with a nagging hamstring injury which required him to undergo a scan.

Having missed a month of action, the Scotland U21 star's return to the first team pool will give sport director Anatoly Korobochka a boost.

"It's taken a few weeks, but we're pleased to see that Lee is working his way back towards full fitness.

"We've got good options in the left-back slot in terms of Lee and Jose and we obviously want both fit and competing for the position."

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pinilla will not feature in training today or tomorrow's reserve game against Falkirk, after Gregorz Szamotulski's horror injury time challenge on Saturday.

The Chilean international hitman was unable to continue after being flattened by the Polish goalkeeper, who earned a second yellow card in the process.

"We're going to have to monitor him very closely over the next day or two," Stephen told Hearts News.

"He won't train on Tuesday, and given the knock he took he's obviously a real doubt for the weekend game against Kilmarnock."
