Hearts skipper Christophe Berra today confessed his delight at the way in which the Jambos confidently dealt with Aberdeen during Saturday's victory over the Dons at Pittodrie.

Christian Nade's goal was enough to separate the sides in a game that the Edinburgh outfit richly deserved to win.

Having created a barrage of chances in the North East, the only surprise to the magnificent 1,200 Hearts supporters was that the men in candy stripes did not make the victory as convincing as it should have been.

Joy after Hearts secure the winner

"I spoke to Banksy and I don't think he had much to do," was Christophe's simple and accurate interpretation of the game. "He had one great save from long range but half the stuff he had to do was from long range or covering crosses.

"In the end, they did put us under a lot of pressure. They went 2-4-4 and threw a lot of people forward but we dealt with it fine."

Christophe also threw his support behind Saulius Mikoliunas, who was booked for 'diving' in the penalty area. For the second week running, the smart money was on that decision being a little unfair.

Whilst refusing to become embroiled in any real debate - or to criticise match referee Willie Colum, Christophe's support for the hard-working winger was unequivocal.

He added: "Miko's maybe got a reputation now after Lithuania-Scotland and these things are going against him. He's a good lad and he says it was a penalty.

"He's my team-mate and I believe him so I'll back him. The decision wasn't given and we just have to move on."
