SPL Reserve League: Hearts 1-0 Celtic
From Hearts News at Forthbank Stadium

Hearts reserves netted a late - but well deserved - winner against their Celtic counterparts at Forthbank Stadium this afternoon.

The Wee Jambos outperformed a highly experienced Hoops line-up to win the first of two SPL Reserve League games this season.

Steven Husband was the hero finishing five minutes from time to send caretaker manager Stephen Frail home happy.

Speaking after the match he said, "I am absolutely delighted with that performance. It was night and day from last week.

"The experienced players showed tremendous attitude, and the young boys picked up on that.

"They worked hard and they believed that they could win the match.

"I said to them last week that I can accept that you won't win every match, because that's not the purpose of reserve team football, but I cannot accept an attitude that's not good enough.

"Today the attitude and the performance was excellent."

Hearts: Ridgers; Tall, Zaliukas, Rapnik, Devine; Ivaskevicius, Mearns (Taylor, 78), Screpis (Aguiar, 46), Wagner (Husband, 39); Wallace, Mackle. Subs not used: Stewart, Banks.
