Hearts and Rangers shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller in this afternoon's SPL Reserve League clash at Forthbank Stadium.

The hosts fell behind within less than a minute on the clock but hit back through Alastair Divine's 21st-minute strike. Moments later the Glasgow side restored their advantage, although Hearts demonstrated their fighting qualities once again to level the match for a second time, Jamie Mole equalising on the half-hour mark.

Steven Husband then appeared to have secured the points for Hearts with his 76th-minute effort - his second goal in four days for the reserves following his winner against Celtic on Monday.

However, disappointment was to follow just 10 minutes from time when Rangers snatched a draw with a late equaliser.

"It was a very good game," said caretaker manager Stephen Frail.

"We started off very poorly with the loss of such an early goal but we showed great character to get back into the game and go ahead in the match before half-time.

"It looked like we were going to go on and win it after going 3-2 up so it was disappointing to lose the third goal so soon after taking the lead in the second half."

Hearts: Ridgers, Stewart, Taylor (Wood 60), Rapnik, Divine, Mulrooney, Mackle (Aguiar 46), Husband, Driver (Love, 66), Mole, R. Wallace.
