Hibs came from behind to retain the East of Scotland Shield at Easter Road Stadium tonight after securing a late 3-2 win against a young Hearts side.

The Leithers netted a winner in the last minute through hat-trick hero Kurtis Bryne.

Hearts hit the front through Jonathan Stewart's cross shot, before Bryne's first for Hibs.

The visitors were back in front again after Sean Mackle set up Ryan Wallace for a 2-1 lead.

Again Bryne hit back for Hibs, before securing a dramatic third in the dying seconds.

U19 coach Darren Murray was happy enough with the performance, but devastated to see a very young side lose.

"It was a good game played at a good tempo by both sides," he told Hearts News.

"For a neutral it would have been an excellent game but as a Hearts coach I am absolutely gutted to see the team lose so late.

"We passed the ball reasonably well and got behind them down the right side a couple of times, but Hibs did have a couple of chances in the second half."

Hearts: Ridgers; Stewart, Devine, Taylor, Rapnik, Mearns, Mulrooney, McGowan, Wallace, Husband, Mackle. Subs: Cowan, Love, Woods, McAllion, Banks.
