Robbie vows to play
Robbie Neilson has vowed to play through the pain barrier to be involved in his testimonial match on Sunday.
The full-back has been ruled out for the season due to a stomach injury but is determined to play some part in his big day this weekend.
The game between Hearts and a Hearts Cup winning select has been arranged to mark Robbie's 10 years at the club and he said today: "It's Sod's Law that I've got this injury at this time of the season but that's just the way it is.
"I can't play to my maximum at the moment and can only really jog at half pace and certainly can't sprint.
"I've been resting the injury for a few weeks but don't want to miss the game. I plan to start and then see how it goes."
In Robbie's absence from the first team, youngster Jason Thomson has proved an able deputy.
"He has done well," added the Scotland international. "He'll have benefited from the experience and I'm sure it will stand him in good stead for next season."
Tickets for Sunday's big day are on sale now - priced at £8 for adults and £4 for concessions, which is a 20% discount on matchday prices!
