The team made it to its base at Eltville, which is just a few kilometres from Wiesbaden, at 10.10pm local time.

After a light buffet of sandwiches and fruit, and a very short team meeting the players retired for a good night's sleep in their magnificent surroundings.

Tomorrow morning it is down to business with intensive training planned throughout the day, although the first 7.30am session has been put back until Tuesday.

Csaba Laszlo told Hearts News on board the flight over that he will be demanding a great deal from the players during this trip.

"We must work very hard," he said. Normally we will train three times a day. Our first session will be stabilising work for 30 minutes. Our morning session will last 70 minutes and focus on the shape and style of the team.

"In the evening we'll continue to work with the ball, but the focus will be on our fitness and sharpness."

Hearts News and Hearts.TV will be with the team every step of the way as they embark on a vital part of the pre-season schedule.
