Hearts today announced that Jason Thomson has joined first division side Livingston on loan for the season, after the two clubs came to an arrangement this morning.

The right-back, given his first team debut by Lions boss John Robertson against Inverness 18 months ago, struggled to break into the Jambos squad last season, as a result of the outstanding performances of Robbie Neilson.

Speaking today, head coach Valdas Ivanauskas said: "This is the right move for Jason. He will get very good experience playing for Livingston with Robbo. This is far better for him than playing for our reserves and we wish him well for the season."
