Injured Hearts star Mike Tullberg has enlisted the help of world renowned physiotherapist Thomas Macon as he bids to recover from his thigh problem.

The recent loan signing from Reggina has returned home to Brondby for intensive treatment having suffered a recurrence of the muscle injury sustained in pre-season in Germany.

The 22-year-old has worked closely in the past with Macon, the private physio of Denmark's WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler and with Macon's assistance, Mike is hoping to return to fitness as soon as possible.

Results of hospital scans will outline the extent of the problem, although next weekend's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Falkirk will come too quickly for the forward.

While frustrated at the latest setback, the former Serie A front man is determined to return to Edinburgh as quickly as he can.

Speaking exclusively to Hearts News Today from Denmark, Mike said: "I am in the best possible hands.

"Thomas is the best in the business and I have to thank Hearts for allowing me to return home to Denmark for treatment.

"I arrived home yesterday morning and went straight to his clinic and began treatment straight away.

"I want to help the club as much as possible but I am not putting any pressure on myself as far as timings are concerned. What is certain, though, is that no-one can get me back quicker than Thomas.

"This is the best solution for me."

Mike is following a strict sugar-free diet regime to aid his recovery, while he has also had special machines installed in his house to enable him to continue his rehab away from the clinic.

"We are doing everything we can to get me back as fit as possible," he added. "I am on a special diet of vitamins, meat and vegetables. Thomas has also given me some machines to take home so I can work on things myself so the situation couldn't better as far as my rehabilitation is concerned.

"I hope to be back training with Hearts in the not too distant future but it is a very frustrating time for me."
