The famous maroon and white of Heart of Midlothian Football Club has been around since 1874. On this page we look at some of the different strips that the famous stars of the past have adorned...

Barney Battles

1920s - 1950s

Hearts strip did not change a great deal between the 1920s and the middle of the 1950s. The design was simple, using a maroon shirt, with a white colar.

John Cumming

from 1957 into the 1960s

In 1957-58 season, the strip changed to a white insert on the collar with white piping on the short sleeve.  This strip was worn throughout the 70s aswell, with only minor adjustments to the design.  This era also brought about the candy striped strip which was worn at home and away games.  It was a popular top with the hearts support, but was discontinued around 1963.
