I'd like to welcome everyone to today's game and trust you all had an enjoyable break over the summer and are ready for another exciting season here at Tynecastle.

Firstly, though, may I congratulate everyone on making the international challenge match with FC Barcelona such a huge success at Murrayfield. It was a marvellous occasion and to see so many supporters inside the stadium was a delight.

It may be slightly unusual to kick off the new season on a Monday night but I'm sure nobody will mind if we can get the right result against Hibs.

The Edinburgh derby is a great game to start the new campaign and the players will be eager to get down to the serious business of picking up points in the SPL.
