Hearts v Rangers
Tynecastle - CBSPL
Saturday 15th September
It is now three weeks since my last programme notes and I am delighted to say we have now unveiled the plans for the first stage of our proposals for the redevelopment of the new main stand at Tynecastle Stadium.
To get to this stage has taken approximately two and a half years but we are confident that we have a proposal that will deliver first class benefits for Hearts, the City of Edinburgh and indeed Scottish Football as a whole.
I have repeatedly said that the work we are doing today is aimed at ensuring this club has a future which is both sustainable and successful. Our stadium plans are a significant part in these long term plans.
The other key ingredient to these plans is building a successful squad that can realistically compete for honours. I can assure you that one will not be done at the expense of the other.
We know that a strong team is essential to everything we do. This is why we will continue to identify and sign players that are right for Hearts current first team and, as importantly, build a structure that allows us to bring through some of the brightest prospects at youth level into the first team squad in the season's ahead.
Finally I would like to thank those of you who have written to express your support of our plans for the new stadium and, on behalf of the Board, we appreciate the fact that you share our vision for the home of Hearts.
Enjoy the game
