Hearts v Motherwell
Tynecastle - CBSPL
Saturday 8th December

Welcome back to Tynecastle for this afternoon's Clydesdale Bank Premier League meeting with Motherwell.

We have recorded the same result in the last two games but the 1-1 draws arrived in very different manners.

While against Gretna it was poor, the late draw against Celtic last weekend had many positives in it, as it indicated a welcome shift in our mentality, with the boys going until the very last seconds and achieving a merited draw against the champions.

Your cheers at the end of the Celtic game told us that we are on the right track but we need to keep improving and want to do better across the board.

Our lack of consistency is a worry and may be down to the youthful nature of our team but we have to find it very soon to be able to challenge at the top of the SPL, where we want (and need!) to be, just like the fans expect.

We have the hope of being able to do it in our hearts but we must back it up with good play and good results, which ultimately are what you want and deserve from us.

Motherwell have had a blistering start to the campaign and great credit must go to Mark McGee for the work he has already carried out in his short spell in charge.

But we have to be looking to overtake them as soon as possible, and that firstly requires a positive result this afternoon.

For that we need to approach the game with the same desire and never-say-die attitude we have shown against the Old Firm this season and, no less importantly, your continued support.

Let's hear some noise - again!
